It's Beginning to Look a lot like Summer
Summer 2012 has truly arrived at Pioneer Pacific. The boats have been launched, the barnacles scraped off sea shanty point and the group of 41 dedicated summer staff have gathered from as far as Kansas and Montreal, ready for a wild summer of service and fun.
For the past week the staff’s time has been divided between training sessions where they learned camp protocol and work days where they raked, mulched and cleaned to make sure camp was ship shape for summer.
After an intense week of preparations, the staff was very excited to welcome the 20 Leaders in Training. The LITs arrived on Saturday to participate in Pioneer’s leadership development program that will help them to become Godly, enthusiastic and caring cabin leaders. With the laughter and voices of the LITs filling senior hill, camp is beginning to feel like its normal summer self again.
This Tuesday Pioneer is launching a new camp called Discover, that will run from Tuesday till Saturday and is ideal for first time campers.
As everyone prepares for the beginning of Discover, the staff are praying that every camper and volunteer who passes through camp this summer will experience the love of God and the joy of belonging to the Pioneer community.
Keep checking back for blog updates and photos of all the crazy stuff going down this summer.
